
TIMOTHY DEAN
Timothy Dean focuses his practice on tax planning and business transactions, bringing extensive experience in corporate restructurings, entity formations, and complex tax matters. Prior to joining Armbrust & Brown, Tim was an associate at a mid-sized firm in Houston, where he played a key role in high-value transactions and the analysis and execution of complex tax-planning strategies.
He has advised clients on complex tax issues, including Section 1061 carried interest issuances, Section 355 split-off transactions, real estate joint ventures, partnership dissolution matters, and corporate reorganizations. Tim has also served as Tax Counsel to both buyers and sellers in acquisitions across various industries, including manufacturing, architecture, and gaming.
Tim earned his J.D. and Tax LL.M., cum laude and with high distinction, from LMU Loyola Law School where he received the Gregory W. Goff Award for superior academic achievement in the Tax Law curriculum. He also holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of the Incarnate Word. He is a member of the Texas State Bar and the Houston Bar Association.
